Sorry I have been so bad about blogging. I swear during the summer it gets harder to blog and keep up. So here are the details about our sweet baby girl's arrival. Shawn and I decided to go golfing Wednesday June 24th. We went to a 9 hole golf course in Shelley, ID. The course was a little rough and the ride was definitely bumpy. To this day, I swear that is what put me into labor because we went to the doctor the Monday before and he told us we were not even dialated and my cervix had not even thinned out. I had a massage lined up later on in the week, I was putting on special oils, and I got a pedicure. I was trying to think of anything possible to help get our baby here. Golfing was the trick! Thursday morning I woke up and my underwear was wet. I rushed upstairs and asked my mom what was going on. She had no idea, so we decided to wait a little bit. Well about twenty minutes went on and I started to slowly leak down my leg. I knew then that my water had broke. We called the doctor's office and they told us to come in and get checked out. Sure enough, my water had broke, but it was just a small leakage and would slowly leak throughout the day. They told us to head to the hospital. I was so nervous. I couldn't believe the day had finally arrived. I checked into the hospital at 10:00 a.m. The nurses at the hospital were great. They took such good care of me. I got all situated in the room and got hooked up to an IV. They checked me out and I was dialted to a .5 I was a little discouraged. So they decided to put me on Pit. Well 14 hours later and I still was only dialted to a 1. It was a long hard labor with lots of labor pains. I have never felt anything like it before. Shawn was such a great support and stood by my side through it all and never got nervous. I was so proud of him. Finally my mom talked the nurses and anestisiologist (bad spelling) into giving me an epidural. The epidural only took on my right side and so I was still feeling all the pain on the my left side. They slowly had to inject more medicine into me and it finally worked on my left side. Within one hour I was dialated to a 10 and ready to push. It was amazing. I don't know how women give birth without medicine. I thought I was pretty tough, but I realized I was a pansy. The nurse told me to start pushing because she thought it would take a while to get our baby out. Shawn was my counter and he did a great job. After just three contractions and pushes, the nurse told me to stop because they had to call the doctor to get him there to deliver. Only four contractions and pushes later did our baby girl arrive. The first thing I asked was if she had all her fingers and toes. It was the most spiritual and amazing experience Shawn and I have ever had. I thank my heavenly father every day for sending me an angel from heaven and blessing our lives.

Sounds like it ended up going great.
Maybe the next one you can do by yourself.
