5 months

Zoey turned 5 months old on Thanksgiving. I can't believe how big she is getting. Here are a few things we love about her, along with some new stages in her life:
- Her smile. She is always smiling and making Shawn and I laugh.
- Rolling. She has started to roll over. It is so fun to watch her work so hard to roll over and then get so upset when she is on her tummy because she can't roll back over.
- Sitting up. She can sit up on her own. She does not last a long time, but she is getting so strong and loves to sit up.
- Sucking her thumb. I don't know if we love her sucking on her thumb, but she loves it. She is constantly sucking on her thumb. It is so funny. She just noticed it over the break and is always doing it.
- Naps. She has always been a great napper and has slept through the night since she was two weeks old, but she loves her naps. She takes 2-3 hour naps twice a day. It is nice for me to get stuff done, but I also hate it because I would much rather have her up so I can play with her.
-Laugh. She has the cutest laugh ever. I love to make her laugh. She loves playing hide and seek, and peek-a-boo. She will laugh no matter what.
-Blanca- This is her bunny that makes lullaby sounds. She loves it. She kisses and hugs on it and whenever she is cranky, this will always calm her down and make her smile.
-Bath time. She loves taking a bath. When we are done giving her a bath, we get her out and bring her to the mirror. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and smile. Totally a girl.

We love you so much Zoey. You are our life and we are so blessed to have you.

FAMILY

Zoey had so much fun playing with her cousins. She got spoiled the whole time we were home. My niece had her 2nd birthday party, my nephew loved kissing on Zoey, and my sisters loved on her too. Here are a few pics of Zoey growing up so fast with her cousins.

More Thanksgiving Fun

We had such a fun time over Thanksgiving break. We played horse on a little kid basketball hoop, and of course I won :), made watch bands, watched Smallville, went to a ton of family parties, went to my sister Kylee's high school basketball game where Shawn almost got in a fight, did lots of shopping, played lots of board games, and went to TSR to race go karts on a track. It was a blast. Shawn won!!! He was flying around the corners and had no mercy. We have so many blessings to be thankful for. Most importantly we love our family, friends and the gospel. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday!!!

Stats

I took Zoey in to the doctor yesterday for her four month check-up. Here are her stats:
WEIGHT: 15 pounds 14 ounces (Between 75th and 90th percentile) HEIGHT: 26 inches (Between 75th and 90th percentile) HEAD: 16 inches (25th percentile)

And here is a picture after the shots. She fell right asleep. She was extremely upset though. Ten times more mad than when she got her ears pierced. And she is super cranky today too. I feel really bad for her. She even has a fever and stuffed up nose. Hope she is not getting sick.

Gotta Love Renting

So this morning Shawn comes in and tells me we have a problem. And I am thinking Roxy, our dog, did something or else he broke something. He tells me we have a leak from our roof. Just what I wanted to hear. So I called the management and told them. The good thing is they were here within ten minutes. He fixed the problem and said it was because of our shower. We recently got a new shower and the dudes who put it in screwed it up and didn't attach things right. Now I am blessed with three holes in the roof and a big wet spot on the carpet. Man I love renting and I just have to remember that we will be renting for quite some time too. I guess it could have been way worse right? There could have been a flood or something.

What's Wrong With This Picture

On Sunday Shawn and I were taking a ton of pictures of her and getting her to laugh and smile. Well she was getting a little fussy and so we decided to take her dress off and give her a break from all the dress up. Well we took a ton of pictures and like I said in another post, Zoey loves to point at the camera when we take pictures of her. Well, guess what sign she decides to show her mommy and daddy!!!

Smiles

Zoey has such a cute personality. She just smiles and laughs all the time. She has the cutest laugh too. It cracks us up. Her new thing is pointing at the camera when we take pictures of her and she is slobbering a ton. She loves to blow bubbles and spit everywhere. I really love this stage in her life right now. She is so much fun. I do however miss the newborn stage when I could just cuddle her all the time. She doesn't like that so much anymore:(

BEES!!!

This weekend was so much fun. We got to go to Couer D'Alene for the weekend and see my family. It was high school state volleyball and so my sister Kylee's team was there. My family has not seen Zoey for two months and the little tike has just grown so much. We ate tons, shopped tons, and cheered tons. My sister Kylee is an amazing volleyball player. Her team took State. Way to go Bees. So for Halloween, my whole family dressed up as Bees since my sister's mascot is a Bee. It was awesome. I loved every second of it and I am sad that the weekend went by so fast. I didn't really even get that great of a picture of Zoey in her bee outfit. She looked so cute, but she was sweating so bad. That costume was off in ten minutes after we set foot in the gym. Hope everyone had a great Halloween. We sure did.

Go Bengals!!!

This last weekend, Shawn, Zo and I went to Cheney, Washington to watch my sister Savannah play in her volleyball game. ISU vs. Eastern Washington University. It was so dang much fun to see her. She has not seen Zoey in two months. And the little ones just change so much in two months. Zoey loved the volleyball game. She stayed awake for five hours without a nap. She did not want to miss out on any action and she had to see her Aunt Nan. It was so good to see my sister. I miss her tons and hate being so far away from her. She is such a sweetheart and she has really taught me of the importance of sticking through things when its not going your way or when you just feel like giving up. She is such a great example to me. She was kissing on Zo though and I think she got her sick. Thanks for that Nan. Love you!!!
P.S. Gotta love the grumpy look on her face though. Looks like she is really loving it huh? I swear she was though.

Confession

I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic. And it really doesn't matter what store I go to because I always end up coming out with something. And I really do try to be reasonable and weigh out the factors and if this is something I really need to get. Well ever since I have had Zoey, all my shopaholic skills go towards her. I really don't remember the last time I bought something for Shawn or I. And don't get me wrong, I am totally okay with it. I love spending money and I am good at it. The one store I am bound to spend at least $100.00 dollars in is the big red bulls eye- Target. I love this store. I always told Shawn that if there was one store that I had the power to just go in there and get whatever I wanted, this would be it. It is definitely a good thing there is no Target here in Moscow or else our money account would be suffering big time. And I think I have persuaded myself that its okay that I am spending all this money because its for our daughter Zoey and she deserves it. :) Thanks mom for giving me that shopaholic gene. I only learned it from the best.

10 Hour Roadie

So Zoey and I decided to take a ten hour road trip to Havre, Montana. I guess Zo didn't have much of a choice :) She is a trooper. She pretty much slept the entire time. I just had to stop and feed her twice. Besides my back being broke from the long ride, I had such a fun time. I went to play in the Alumni basketball game with some of my old teammates that I have not seen in a couple of years. It was so good to be around them again and to relive some memories. It is really hard to come by some good honest friends. I love these girls to death and would do anything for them. Pictured below is Zoey in her carseat, pretty much just zoned out, my teammates, and my friend's baby girl who is ten months old. She is a chunk man. Gotta love the college days!!! We sure did miss our daddy though. It is hard being away from Shawn. He does so much for our family. I love him and appreciate all he has done for me and Zoey.

4 months!!!

Zoey turns four months old tomorrow. I can not believe it. She has grown so much and is just so much fun. She absolutely loves her saucer. Any time she starts getting a little fussy, put her in the saucer. I really think it has helped her sit up and become stronger too. She is getting really good at sitting up on her own. She can almost roll over, but has the hardest time rolling back over once she is on her tummy. She hates being on her tummy too, so I don't know how that is going to work with crawling. She loves the camera and will smile on command. I love it. She has started laughing too. She has the cutest laugh. It just makes us grin from ear to ear to hear such a sweet laugh. So when is the best time to introduce cereal and baby food? She is acting like she wants some, but I have no idea. She drinks 6 ounces in a bottle, so should I just maybe up the ounces? How come the doctors at the hospital do not give you a book on all this or am I just a dumb mom???

Love/Hate Relationship

I have been a member of Weight Watchers for a month now. I tried the Slim Fast diet to begin with after I had Zo to get rid of my fat. That sucked. I was starving and the shakes were starting to make me sick. I didn't lose a single pound either. Plus, it was ridiculously expensive. When I got to Moscow, my friend suggested Weight Watchers because she is a lifetime member. I was up for anything. The first week I went I lost three pounds and my friend didn't lose anything. Then the second week I gained two pounds and my friend lost two pounds. So pretty much if one of us is happy, the other one is super pissed and depressed and wants to quit Weight Watchers. Well I missed the last week, but just went yesterday to a meeting and weigh in. I lost 5.8 pounds. I was so happy and proud of myself. I only have two more pounds to go before my pre-pregnany weight. So this week I am totally loving Weight Watchers, but wait to hear about my next week's post because I could be hating Weight Watchers. I really think that it has to do with portion sizes and not snacking. Before Weight Watchers, I am pretty sure I was eating for two people and I was not even pregnant. Hopefully I can keep this up.

Sneeze and Snot

So really this whole post is a plea for advice and help from all you well-educated moms out there. Zoey will be four months old this Friday. She has had a snotty nose for two weeks straight now. It is so hard for her to breathe and drink her bottles. It even makes for a bad night's rest cuz she can't breathe out of her nose well. And I have tried all the natural remedies there are out there. Nothing has seemed to work. I have a humidifier running all hours of the day too. She just can't seem to kick it. On top of it, she sneezes on average 15 times a day. Is this normal? Could she have allergies? I just feel so helpless and I just wish there was something I could do for my little baby. She is still such a happy baby though and just smiles and laughs all the time. When night time rolls around is when she starts to get a little runny in the nose and a little cranky. I have also been to the doctor and he said its just a little cold and she will just have to deal with it and let her body get rid of it. I just didn't know it would be two weeks later and she would still be having a snotty nose. Let me know what you think about the sneezing and if that has something to do with her cold or not. I would be willing to try anything. I have already tried an onion by her bedside for her to breathe in at night. Now that is desperate huh. Thanks in advance for your advice....

Glo-Worm Look Alike

Zoey just absolutely loves her Glo-Worm doll. When she gets a little fussy at night we stick her in the swing with her glo-worm and she will just sit and stare. The only bad thing is that either Shawn or I have to keep pushing the belly for the doll to light up. I took this picture of her and her doll in the swing. For some reason the more and more that I look at this picture, the more these two little cuties look alike.

Squirmer

So this morning I went in to check on Zoey and this is what I found. She is the craziest sleeper ever. I think I might have to get a king size crib. Do they even make those? She has woke up like this the last three nights. She was so happy to see me though. She was just smiling when I came in to get her.
