Go Bengals!!!

This last weekend, Shawn, Zo and I went to Cheney, Washington to watch my sister Savannah play in her volleyball game. ISU vs. Eastern Washington University. It was so dang much fun to see her. She has not seen Zoey in two months. And the little ones just change so much in two months. Zoey loved the volleyball game. She stayed awake for five hours without a nap. She did not want to miss out on any action and she had to see her Aunt Nan. It was so good to see my sister. I miss her tons and hate being so far away from her. She is such a sweetheart and she has really taught me of the importance of sticking through things when its not going your way or when you just feel like giving up. She is such a great example to me. She was kissing on Zo though and I think she got her sick. Thanks for that Nan. Love you!!!
P.S. Gotta love the grumpy look on her face though. Looks like she is really loving it huh? I swear she was though.

Confession

I have a confession to make. I am a shopaholic. And it really doesn't matter what store I go to because I always end up coming out with something. And I really do try to be reasonable and weigh out the factors and if this is something I really need to get. Well ever since I have had Zoey, all my shopaholic skills go towards her. I really don't remember the last time I bought something for Shawn or I. And don't get me wrong, I am totally okay with it. I love spending money and I am good at it. The one store I am bound to spend at least $100.00 dollars in is the big red bulls eye- Target. I love this store. I always told Shawn that if there was one store that I had the power to just go in there and get whatever I wanted, this would be it. It is definitely a good thing there is no Target here in Moscow or else our money account would be suffering big time. And I think I have persuaded myself that its okay that I am spending all this money because its for our daughter Zoey and she deserves it. :) Thanks mom for giving me that shopaholic gene. I only learned it from the best.

10 Hour Roadie

So Zoey and I decided to take a ten hour road trip to Havre, Montana. I guess Zo didn't have much of a choice :) She is a trooper. She pretty much slept the entire time. I just had to stop and feed her twice. Besides my back being broke from the long ride, I had such a fun time. I went to play in the Alumni basketball game with some of my old teammates that I have not seen in a couple of years. It was so good to be around them again and to relive some memories. It is really hard to come by some good honest friends. I love these girls to death and would do anything for them. Pictured below is Zoey in her carseat, pretty much just zoned out, my teammates, and my friend's baby girl who is ten months old. She is a chunk man. Gotta love the college days!!! We sure did miss our daddy though. It is hard being away from Shawn. He does so much for our family. I love him and appreciate all he has done for me and Zoey.

4 months!!!

Zoey turns four months old tomorrow. I can not believe it. She has grown so much and is just so much fun. She absolutely loves her saucer. Any time she starts getting a little fussy, put her in the saucer. I really think it has helped her sit up and become stronger too. She is getting really good at sitting up on her own. She can almost roll over, but has the hardest time rolling back over once she is on her tummy. She hates being on her tummy too, so I don't know how that is going to work with crawling. She loves the camera and will smile on command. I love it. She has started laughing too. She has the cutest laugh. It just makes us grin from ear to ear to hear such a sweet laugh. So when is the best time to introduce cereal and baby food? She is acting like she wants some, but I have no idea. She drinks 6 ounces in a bottle, so should I just maybe up the ounces? How come the doctors at the hospital do not give you a book on all this or am I just a dumb mom???

Love/Hate Relationship

I have been a member of Weight Watchers for a month now. I tried the Slim Fast diet to begin with after I had Zo to get rid of my fat. That sucked. I was starving and the shakes were starting to make me sick. I didn't lose a single pound either. Plus, it was ridiculously expensive. When I got to Moscow, my friend suggested Weight Watchers because she is a lifetime member. I was up for anything. The first week I went I lost three pounds and my friend didn't lose anything. Then the second week I gained two pounds and my friend lost two pounds. So pretty much if one of us is happy, the other one is super pissed and depressed and wants to quit Weight Watchers. Well I missed the last week, but just went yesterday to a meeting and weigh in. I lost 5.8 pounds. I was so happy and proud of myself. I only have two more pounds to go before my pre-pregnany weight. So this week I am totally loving Weight Watchers, but wait to hear about my next week's post because I could be hating Weight Watchers. I really think that it has to do with portion sizes and not snacking. Before Weight Watchers, I am pretty sure I was eating for two people and I was not even pregnant. Hopefully I can keep this up.

Sneeze and Snot

So really this whole post is a plea for advice and help from all you well-educated moms out there. Zoey will be four months old this Friday. She has had a snotty nose for two weeks straight now. It is so hard for her to breathe and drink her bottles. It even makes for a bad night's rest cuz she can't breathe out of her nose well. And I have tried all the natural remedies there are out there. Nothing has seemed to work. I have a humidifier running all hours of the day too. She just can't seem to kick it. On top of it, she sneezes on average 15 times a day. Is this normal? Could she have allergies? I just feel so helpless and I just wish there was something I could do for my little baby. She is still such a happy baby though and just smiles and laughs all the time. When night time rolls around is when she starts to get a little runny in the nose and a little cranky. I have also been to the doctor and he said its just a little cold and she will just have to deal with it and let her body get rid of it. I just didn't know it would be two weeks later and she would still be having a snotty nose. Let me know what you think about the sneezing and if that has something to do with her cold or not. I would be willing to try anything. I have already tried an onion by her bedside for her to breathe in at night. Now that is desperate huh. Thanks in advance for your advice....

Glo-Worm Look Alike

Zoey just absolutely loves her Glo-Worm doll. When she gets a little fussy at night we stick her in the swing with her glo-worm and she will just sit and stare. The only bad thing is that either Shawn or I have to keep pushing the belly for the doll to light up. I took this picture of her and her doll in the swing. For some reason the more and more that I look at this picture, the more these two little cuties look alike.

Squirmer

So this morning I went in to check on Zoey and this is what I found. She is the craziest sleeper ever. I think I might have to get a king size crib. Do they even make those? She has woke up like this the last three nights. She was so happy to see me though. She was just smiling when I came in to get her.

Bookclub Rocks

For relief society in my ward, we are doing a bookclub and reading a different book for each month. Okay so really the only reason that I decided to go to bookclub was for the social aspect. Well I figured out really quick that it is not going to be much of a social party unless I read the books assigned. So I decided to go and get a membership at the public library and get the first book for the month of September for our bookclub. Now if you know me well, you know that I really dislike to read so this is huge for me. Plus I warned all the girls in bookclub that the books can not be much longer than 200 pages or I will never get it read. Contrare my friends. I did it. The book is called "Follow the River". I was a little skeptical at first and was not quite sure if I would enjoy it or not. I abosultely LOVED it. I could not put it down and every spare minute I had, I was picking up that book to read it. I would highly reccomment this book. It was AWESOME. This lady went through some major trials in her life and overcame them and more. I was thinking to myself I have been through a major trial in my life and overcame it, but I don't know if I could have done what she did. I won't give anything away just in case you would like to read it, but it is a winner.
